Hi Everyone!

I can't believe that December is basically here!

In previous years the Seattle Urban League Young Professionals has thrown a Holiday Party to raise money to buy gifts for youth in the Metro Seattle area. This year we are doing things a little different!

I personally want to extend an invitation for you to join us this year at

Headshots & Handshakes for the Holidays

See below for details about our joint effort with Seattle National Black MBA Association.

Here are some answers to FAQ:

1. Why is ULMSYP partnering with NBMBAA and not throwing their own Holiday Party?

Great question. You may or may not have noticed that there are several minority organizations throwing parties/social gatherings in December. We would rather celebrate together than be in competition with one another. So this joint venture just made sense! Then why isn't your logo on the flyer? Ha! Because the flyer was already made prior to our collabo!

2. What will the $20 cover?

Food!!! Specifically Soul Food!!  So you don't have to cook on Thursday, you can thank me later :-)

3. Why the Royal Esquire Club?

Easy question. It is a BLACK OWNED BUSINESS My goal as president of Seattle YPs is to always support as many Black owned businesses in Seattle as possible. We as professionals need to make a conscious effort to start spending our dollars at more minority owned businesses and a holiday party is the perfect place to start! Check them out -> http://royalesquireclub.com/

4. You mentioned fundraising - tell me more!

Our affiliate - the Urban League of Metro Seattle - provides gifts for families of Career Bridge, as well as members of the First A.M.E church. As you can imagine, most people think about smaller kids when they donate gifts. The YPs will be raising money for teenagers aged 13-18. Our goal is $500.

5. Sounds great! How can I contribute -

Asking for money is never easy so we certainly appreciate you taking the first steps to ask!  You can donate one of two ways -

Our website http://sulyp.wildapricot.org/page-1789273 under Holiday gifts for teens OR in person at the party! I will make sure and bring my square reader.

Just a friendly reminder that the Urban League is a non profit organization, therefore ALL MONIES received are going directly to the youth we are serving.

6. All of this sounds lovely! How can I come to the party?

Here is the link https://www.eventbrite.com/e/nbmbaa-headshots-handshakes-for-the-holidays-tickets-39762419467 and bring your friends! Please sign up using the eventbrite link. Our link won't grant you access to the party OR guarantee you some delicious Soul Food.

7. What is the attire?

Depends! If you are interested in updating your professional headshot (free photo) I would dress accordingly. If not, I would wear the same outfit I wore to work.

8. I have more questions, who can I reach out to? You can email me directly at - Adrienne (Seattle YP President) at ajhairston81@gmail.com and/or Traci Harrell (Seattle NBMBAA President) at tharrell@microsoft.com

Sorry(NotSorry) for the long email but I thank you if you made it all the way down here!

Hope to see you there!

Yours in the Movement,

Adrienne J. Hairston | President
